Eternal Engines is developing a new generation of efficient, scalable, and modular scotch-yoke engines predicated upon
the Bourke engine, fully modernized for the 21st century and beyond.
Efficiency.
The Eternal Engine lineup offers never-before-seen thermal efficiency to break the 60% barrier with a power-to-weight ratio of
4 HP/lbs coupled with an integral ability to run on multiple fuel types, reduced maintenance intervals, reduced maintenance time (20-minute overhaul), and an 8-fold improvement in lifespan. Measured EGTs are less than 220°F with negligible pollutants.
The pulse-detonation system exploits the Fickett-Jacobs cycle and achieves Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) consistently and reliably without the need for spark plugs, complex fuel injection, or ignition timing because of its static compression ratio that exceeds 30:1. Eternal Engines are engineered to be the opposition to Planned Obsolescence.
